The Competition

The Skystation workshops acted as a catalyst for this online Skystation photography competition. In the school's workshops the pupils were encouraged to experiment with taking digital photographs of the sky, echoing artist Peter Newman's practice. The idea of looking up, towards the future and viewing your environment and surroundings through a camera lens, framing vistas and light and capturing a unique moment, allows the individual interact with the spaces and places they live in.

Each individual in the school’s workshops was encouraged to select one of their Sky photographs to submit to the competition and a selection panel judged the submissions, selecting 1 winner and 2 runners up from each workshop group.
