Local Residents
The launch of the Skystation in George Nuttall Park on Thursday 13th May, will mark the birth of a new community for George Nuttall Close. The newly landscape park, play area and the Skystation sculpture by Peter Newman, animate this open space, providing a focus for the residents and an opportunity for a new community spirit to flourish.
It is hoped that Skystation, as an interactive contemporary sculpture, will allow residents to explore their surroundings from the new perspective of looking forward and looking up, as advocated by the artist Peter Newman. With may of the children from the two local schools inspired to take photographs of the world around them, as a result of the workshops, the aspiration is that Skystation will provide them and their families with the impetus to continue exploring, photographing and enjoying the green spaces of Cambridge.
